History of SRB-QAA
Most people go to a place where there is already an established road but very few dare to go to a road less traveled.
We, as SRB went to a place where there is no road but created a path and identity, and leave a trail. Just as our four (4) forefathers and founders leave an everlasting legacy and trail for us to follow especially when they founded a home for us, which are the SRB/SRS on 22nd of September 1975 in
On the 9th of February 2006, seven (7) brave men of SRB namely Brothers: Alvin Fontanilla (Alpha Zeta), Jason Lara (Omega Pi), Julius Sienna , Ahajul Wahajirin (JR) (Gamma Iota), Crispin Manuel (Beta Pi) Jun Tristan Velayo (Gamma Iota) and Jimmy Cacapit (Gamma Rho) met in one of the restaurants in Doha, Qatar for a fellowship. Afterwards they agreed to established SRB alumni for those who are working and will work here in
But those days seems to be fruitless, haven’t met any brothers or sisters to present for the succeeding fellowship of the alumni.
On the historic day of 2007 Scouts Royale Brotherhood, Qatar Alumni Association (SRBQAA) with the initial seven (7) members, bravely decided to register the said alumni to the Philippine Embassy here in
Like any other organization, SRBQAA experienced an uphill battle in order to survive its rightful existence under the sun. During those days, most of members resigned in their respective jobs and started to go back to our country, so the number of existing members slowly decreases.
Right there and then the group accepted the fact that they need more time to gather information to locate brothers/sisters to be a part of the alumni.
But when about to give up and accept the fact that the group almost failed in their mission to come up and established a new road and create a path in the name of SRB Qatar Alumni Association, suddenly and simultaneously one by one and almost every two (2) to three (3) weeks new members came and introduced themselves and becomes a proud member of the said alumni, thanks to the undying efforts of the remaining brothers who did not lose hope for what they have started and believed.
Now the alumni have a solid sixteen (16) strong members and still growing, who will continue to spread the legacy of leadership, friendship and service inherited from the four (4) founding fathers namely brothers JUN CRISTOBAL, BONG MANUEL, LEN TOLEDO and VIC TOMELDEN and the rest is history.
